TaskSlice ("the app") is developed and operated by TaskSlice ("we" or "us"), an independent developer and the developer named on the app's Google Play listing. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it's used, and your choices.
Account information. You can try TaskSlice as a guest, in which case an anonymous account ID is created for you and no personal information is collected. You can also sign in with an email address and password, or your Google account. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo as provided by Google. This is used only to identify your account.
Task content. Text you enter to describe a task is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate a step-by-step breakdown. Your phone's time zone setting (for example, "Asia/Kuala_Lumpur") is sent along with it, so the steps can use your country's units, laws and services. This text and time zone are processed by Google to generate the response and are not stored by us beyond what's needed to complete that request.
Usage data for the free daily limit. To enforce a free daily limit, our server stores your account ID, a randomly generated device identifier, the date, and a count of how many breakdowns you've requested. This is used for quota enforcement and for the daily totals described below, is not linked to any other personal information, and is automatically deleted after 7 days.
Daily totals. Before those records are deleted, our server keeps a few totals for each day: how many people made breakdowns, how many breakdowns were made, how many people reached the daily limit, and how many of that day's users had also used the app in the week before. These totals contain no account IDs, device identifiers or task text, and are used only to understand how much the app is used.
Your projects and progress. Your projects, task breakdowns, and completion status are stored locally on your device. If you have a Pro account, they are also synced to Google Cloud Firestore under your account so they're available on your other devices; only you can access that copy. For everyone else, this data is not transmitted to or stored on our servers except for the one-time processing described above.
Voice input. If you use the microphone button to describe a task, the speech is handled by your device's own speech-recognition service (for example, Google's), under that provider's privacy policy. TaskSlice only receives the resulting text, which is then treated like typed task content.
Text shared into the app. If you use "Share to TaskSlice" from another app, the shared text is placed into a new task for you to review; nothing is sent anywhere until you choose to create the breakdown.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except as described above.

Your local project data stays on your device until you delete the app or clear its data. Signing out of a guest session deletes that guest's projects from the device.
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app: tap the account icon on the home screen, then Delete account. After you confirm your password (or Google account), this permanently deletes your account, your usage records on our server, any projects synced for a Pro account, and all TaskSlice data on that device. The only thing kept is the anonymous per-device daily counter described above, which isn't linked to your account and is deleted automatically within 7 days. If you no longer have the app installed, you can instead email us at the address below to request deletion, and we'll delete your account and data manually.
TaskSlice is intended for people aged 18 and over. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account, contact us at the address below and we'll delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated "Last updated" date.
